As a child, I had a traumatic experience, multiple traumatic experiences with dentists, and decided that I wanted to be a dentist that wouldn't traumatize people, that would be gentle and kind and resolve their problems without major pain. So that's really what drove me to become a dentist.
By far, the most rewarding aspect of dentistry is to have people come into your office in pain and leave without pain. Getting them out of their serious pain immediately is one of the most rewarding aspects of dentistry.
Dr. Karl Boltie was very fearful of the dentist as a child. That fear drove him to become a dentist so that he could alleviate the fear of the dentist for his patients. He graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1994 and has been helping his patients overcome anxiety ever since.
Dr. Boltie joined our team in 2020 and is very much looking forward to meeting the patients of Sabal Dental. His patients love that he is honest, friendly, informative, and flexible. In fact, Dr. Boltie says that the best part of his job is helping his patients get out of pain.
Dr. Boltie served as a board member of the UTHSCSA Alumni Association (2000-2007) and as an adjunct faculty member (1996-2007). He is a supervising dentist for Su Clinica Familiar. He is also a Cub Master for the Cub Pack at Gonzalez Elementary in McAllen, TX. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, hunting, fishing, camping, and home improvement projects.
