Scaling — Think of this as a deeper cleaning than you get during a routine checkup. To fight gum infections, we remove plaque and tartar from between your teeth and gums, particularly in “pockets” where bacteria can accumulate.
Root Planing — Smoothing the surface of your roots helps in two ways. First, bacteria have a harder time clinging to a smooth surface. Second, this makes it easier for your gums to reattach to your teeth.
Laser Treatment — If you have a serious infection, a dental laser is a gentle and effective way to remove the “bad” tissue while sealing healthy tissue without stitches.
Gum Grafting — Receding gums can occur as a result of periodontitis. Gum grafting can restore your gumline. We may also refer you to our Calallen Corpus Christi location. The staff and hygienist are so kind and understanding. When I need a quick cleaning, they are efficient and get me out with a nice clean smile in 30 minutes ! And Dr Thompson worked well with my PTSD from childhood dental abuse. I’m no longer scared of the big bad needle. I got a crown that didn’t hurt at all! He’s the best !
