The staff and hygienist are so kind and understanding. When I need a quick cleaning, they are efficient and get me out with a nice clean smile in 30 minutes ! I have been going to Sabal dental for over a year now. I went in today to have some Crown work performed. Jolene did an excellent job explaining the procedure and what was going to be done to make me feel completely relaxed. Doctor Sperry took her time to make sure that I was comfortable during the whole procedure. I would highly recommend this dental clinic for any work or general cleaning anyone might need.
Several situations require oral surgery. If you have a problem tooth that is not able to be saved, we can extract it quickly and gently. We can also remove wisdom teeth that are putting your other teeth at risk. Also, we can place dental implants where you’re missing teeth so that we can secure new replacement teeth to them and perform procedures designed to prepare your mouth to receive implants.
We recommend not exercising at all for the first 24 hours after oral surgery. Trying to do too much too soon can actually prolong healing. Vigorous exercise can loosen the blood clot on an extraction site and lead to a painful dry socket. For the next few days, a patient should limit activities to low-impact exercises as a precaution.
You’ll need to avoid smoking for at least 12 hours prior to oral surgery (and 24 hours after). We perform most oral surgeries using only local anesthesia, so you’ll be able to enjoy a light meal several hours beforehand. We’ll give you more specific instructions. It’s a good idea to take off work or school for at least a day or two, depending on the kind of surgery you receive.
