I have been going to Sabal dental for over a year now. I went in today to have some Crown work performed. Jolene did an excellent job explaining the procedure and what was going to be done to make me feel completely relaxed. To make your new mouthguard, we’ll first take impressions using a digital scanner. We’ll then take these measurements and use them to make your custom mouthguard. Athletic mouthguards are made right here in our office. For other types of mouthguards, we’ll send this digital information to our lab partner, which will craft your mouthguard and ship it to us.
Your custom mouthguard will fit comfortably in your mouth and will keep your teeth from touching while you sleep. Left untreated, teeth grinding (or bruxism) can lead to tooth decay and damage that would require additional dental work. With this protection in place, teeth grinding will be eliminated, and you won’t have to worry about causing damage to your tooth enamel.
Your dental insurance policy may cover a certain part of your mouthguard. You would need to check with your carrier to determine what they will pay for and what your out-of-pocket expense would be. We do offer third-party financing through CareCredit, which has affordable zero- and low-interest payment plans that many of our patients take advantage of.
