How long do dental veneers last?

Most of our patients can expect their new veneers to last for at least 10 years or longer. Some factors do enter into play, however, including your oral care regimen and the kinds of foods that you regularly consume. If you tend to eat a lot of hard or chewy foods, your veneers may not last as long.

Can dental veneers be repaired?

We may be able to fix your veneers if the damage is minor. If you have a veneer come off, wrap it in a soft tissue and bring it with you to the office so we can reattach it. If your veneer cracks or breaks, you will likely need a replacement veneer.

Are dental veneers painful?

The process for getting your new veneers should be pain-free. For some types of veneers, we may need to get rid of a little tooth enamel to make space for them. This shouldn’t hurt, though, because enamel has no nerves. In certain situations, we may recommend Oraqix, a comfortable, anesthetic liquid that our patients appreciate.
