I have been going to Sabal dental for over a year now. I went in today to have some Crown work performed. Jolene did an excellent job explaining the procedure and what was going to be done to make me feel completely relaxed. Doctor Sperry took her time to make sure that I was comfortable during the whole procedure. I would highly recommend this dental clinic for any work or general cleaning anyone might need.
Before your crowns, bridges, or dentures are created, we’ll use provisional restorations to allow you to try out your restoration before it’s officially placed. This will give us an idea of any fit issues, so we can make any adjustments if needed. It also helps prevent your teeth from shifting and preserves the contour of your gums until your actual crowns, bridges, or dentures are ready.
You’ll want to stick to a diet of soft foods while you are wearing a provisional restoration, especially if you are wearing provisional dentures. If you eat chewy, tough, or crunchy foods, you risk possibly damaging the temporary placement. If you are wearing a provisional crown or bridge, focus on chewing on the other side of your mouth.
You can take care of your teeth like normal, but only gently brush and floss around your provisional crowns or bridges. You may consider purchasing a bridge floss that can floss under your bridge. With your provisional dentures, you’ll want to remove them at night and soak them in a denture cleaner or gently brush them with a soft-bristled toothbrush and gentle toothpaste.
